What is the difference between a standard clean and a deep clean?

A deep clean reaches the places a routine never touches, such as inside the oven, the tops of kitchen units, grout, limescale, skirting boards, and inside the fridge. In what order should you clean a room?
Work top to bottom and finish with the floor. Clear cobwebs and dust high surfaces first, then wipe surfaces at waist height, then clean fixtures like the sink or toilet, and mop or vacuum the floor last. Anything you knock down then lands on a floor you have not cleaned yet. Grouping jobs by posture, all the wiping and then all the floor work, saves time and effort too.
How long does it take to deep clean a house?
A full deep clean of a three-bedroom home in the United Kingdom is usually six to eight hours of real work. The kitchen and bathrooms take the most time. It is perfectly reasonable to split a deep clean across a weekend, one floor at a time, rather than doing it all in one go.
What cleaning products do you need for a deep clean in the United Kingdom?
Four products cover most of the work: a general-purpose spray, a degreaser for the kitchen, a limescale remover for bathrooms and taps, and a glass cleaner. How do you remove limescale in a hard water area?
Much of the United Kingdom has hard water, so limescale is common. Spray a limescale remover, or use a white vinegar solution, and let it dwell for the time on the label before scrubbing. For a blocked shower head, remove it and soak it in a descaling solution. Letting the chemistry do the work is also easier on your wrists than scrubbing hard.
How do you clean an oven?
Remove the shelves and soak them in hot water with a degreaser or oven cleaner. Apply oven cleaner inside and leave it to work for the time on the label, then wipe it away rather than scrubbing. Clean the door glass, replace the shelves, and finish the hob and splashback. Start the oven soaking early so it works while you clean the rest of the kitchen.
